Brahmaputra is an important river in the continent of Asia. Brahmaputra in Sanskrit means "son of Brahma.

Brahmaputra originated in the Gimma Yongjang Glacier near Kailash peak of the Himalaya Mountains, which is located in the western part of Tibet. [2] It is flowing east of Tibo in Tsong Po, which enters India in Arunachal Pradesh, when its name becomes Sion Then, after being named as Ding on Assam, it added two more big rivers named Ding and Lohit and then came to the plain and named it Brahmaputra. Then it enters Bangladesh through the Mymensingh border and merges into the Bay of Bengal. Its length is 2,900 kilometers. The main branch of the Brahmaputra is Jamuna. The long brahmaputra river is now present (2011).
